10 from Jerry

It’s time once again to have one of our staff members answer the 10 questions.

Today, it’s the turn of our very own, Jerry!

Morning Jerry,

How long have you been with Jays now? I’ve been here for 9 years now.

What is your role within Jays Transport? I’m the Afternoon warehouse supervisor

What do your day to day duties include? The biggest parts of my job are, making sure everything is stored and loaded correctly and that everything arrives at the depot on time.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Cor blimey, I suppose it would be, don’t take things for granted.

What was your first job? I was a petrol pump attendant, I was 15 years old.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island? A good lady, drink and food I spoke. Alcoholic or water? A bit of both

Can you tell us something ‘interesting’ people may not know about you? I once got stuck at Brean down cliffs and had to be rescued by helicopter.

What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid? When I was a kid I wanted to either be in the army or work as a mechanic. I couldn’t join because of perforated ear drums and instead of being a mechanic I took a trade in the building industry instead. Opportunity came up and there I was for 30 years.

What do you do in your spare time? In my spare time, I socialise with friends, I enjoy pool and watching snooker and football…I’m a Chelsea supporter.

Can you speak more than one language? I can speak rubbish.

Are you a coffee or tea person? Coffee… white with 2 sugars.

That’s excellent, thanks Jerry.
