Jays Freight Consolidation Centre for Hinkley Point

Our involvement started with initial deliveries to site way back in 2015, when the site was just a muddy field and from here our involvement has grown, considerably.

Jays are now the go to transport and logistics partner for the HPC Nuclear Power Station New Build in Somerset, happening just outside Bridgwater.

By onboarding drivers and vehicles for full site access, Jays have been able offer a full package of “final mile” delivery and storage to the site. Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a controlled and secure site that only pre-authorised vehicles and personnel can enter.

Our vehicles are site compliant and our drivers have had extensive training culminating in them receiving permanent site passes. We also have direct access to the delivery management system (DMS) to book and manage all of our deliveries, without requiring support and interaction from on-site personnel.

We are working with a number of the Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers and their own supply chains, covering a variety of loads directly onto the project with our vehicles covering 20 – 30 sperate deliveries, daily, into site, servicing all the delivery points.

We are only 11 miles away from the J24 (B) marshalling site and 5 miles from the J23 (A) site, so ideally located to be supporting the onsite contractors.

In addition to the transport support, due to the ever changing environment onsite, we are also covering various storage projects that are unable to be covered onsite but need to be close enough for quick call off, when required.

Over the years Jays have been critical to the HPC project and continue to support new suppliers / contractors to this day, while the build continues and we hope to support ongoing, even after the building phases are complete and the power station us up and running.

If you have and goods to get into site or need an offsite storage solution please contact our teams – Here
