Meet Ben!
He has been an integral part of Jays development over the past 5 years.
Ben is honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Bursting full of ideas, he brings 9 years of transport and logistical experience to go above and beyond for our clients. We are extremely fortunate to have Ben as part of the Jays family.
What is your role within Jays Transport? Commercial Sales Manager UK & EU.
What do your day to day duties include? I predominantly manage our client accounts – This includes costing and managing services relating the deliveries for both UK and EU movements. This is done for both current and new customers. I also deal with the EU & International side of our operation.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received? It costs nothing to keep your eyes and ears open and trust your gut.
What was your first job? Paper boy! Doing the Wednesday rounds when I was 12.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island? A hunting knife, a lighter, and gas for the lighter.
Tell us something ‘interesting’ people may not know about you: I train at both White Collar / Semi Pro and in the past Amateur boxing. I have also competed on the White Collar boxing circuit a few times. I’m currently in the process of getting involved with coaching at a local club.
What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid? A pilot in the RAF. Asthma stopped that from happening, sadly.
What do you do in your spare time? Exercise is a big part of my life so, boxing, running, circuits and in the gym when I have time! Outside of getting sweaty I enjoy going to gigs, watching films and gaming (Xbox). I’m very passionate about my films and music, enjoying a variety of different genres from different decades. Gaming wise I play weekly with friends from back in Birmingham, where I am originally from.
Can you speak more than one language? Sadly not! Although when on holiday I try to learn basics.
Are you a coffee or tea person? Black Coffee, through and through!
